About the Book
The poetry, short stories, essays and prose contained within The Shadow That's Always Tailing Us, ultimately highlight the tensions between past and present. They showcase the enlightening truth and understanding that is revealed when we explore this interaction. The title of the publication omits this important and transcending theme. Like J.M Barrie's Peter, when he desperately lunged for his shadow, there is truth in our past and formation in the self from our original shape. Education must be extracted from the darkness that tails us and these students fearlessly sought clarity in this blackness. From this unique literary experience spoken from the voices of our next generation of Victorian writers, examine the shadow of our past that will hopefully in return reveal the direction for our future.
